About Hassell Bros Auto Body

In 1960 after returning from the Korean War conflict overseas, E.C. “Buzzy” Hassell founded Hassell Bros., Inc. along with his brother Doug who also became a firefighter in the FDNY.  With hard work and dedication the shop quickly grew from a rented two car garage on Farmers Blvd. with the purchase of a new building at the present location. Buzzy had five sons that have all followed in his footsteps by working hard in the shop and are still critical to our success. Bill and Randy have continued their careers in the family business while Ricky, Kevin and Andrew became dedicated professional first responders in the US Army, NYPD, FDNY and Freeport PD.

In 1963, Doug went on his own to open Hassell Auto Body on Long Island. Also into the second generation now, Doug Jr. owns and operates a very successful and award winning collision and towing operation in W. Babylon.  Please visit them at www.hassellautobody.com
